This is mainly organized by several Mexican cartels, and local drug distribution is handled by gangs such as the Indian Brotherhood. While Oregon certainly has its struggles with drug abuse and addiction, there is also a thriving recovery community within the state. It may not be the first state one would think has a major problem with illicit drug use, but studies show Oregon is the fourth-worst state when it comes to past-month illicit drug use.
Experts who have analyzed the drug use rates throughout the state of Oregon have found that the cities along the MAX light-rail line tend to have the highest rates of illicit drug use. It’s believed that this occurs due to drug dealers using the MAX light-rail line to transport their drugs throughout the state.

The Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors of Oregon — or AADACO — is the Oregon-based chapter of NAADAC, consisting of addictions counselors from throughout Oregon who serve as the voice of the addiction treatment professional community.
