About Greenbriar Treatment Center
Greenbriar Treatment Center occupies a hilltop campus at 800 Manor Drive in Washington, Pennsylvania, serving adults from Washington County and the surrounding region. Originally an independent treatment center, Greenbriar joined the Gateway Rehab network in 2021, expanding access to a Western PA recovery system that has been operating since 1972. The facility is Joint Commission accredited, and admissions can be coordinated 24 hours a day through the Gateway central line.
Clinically, the center delivers a full inpatient continuum. Medical detox manages the acute stage of alcohol, opioid, and benzodiazepine withdrawal under nursing oversight. Residential rehabilitation follows for patients who need a structured environment with daily individual and group counseling. Outpatient services support patients stepping down from residential care or entering treatment directly. Evidence-based modalities anchor the program: cognitive behavioral therapy, twelve-step facilitation, individual, family, and group counseling, and medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders.
The program serves men and women, accepts court-ordered referrals coordinated with Washington County’s criminal-justice partners, and accommodates Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients through American Sign Language services. Trauma-informed practice supports patients with PTSD or trauma histories, and dual-diagnosis programming addresses co-occurring mental health concerns. Family programs welcome loved ones into the treatment process, recognizing that recovery rarely happens in isolation.
Greenbriar accepts Pennsylvania Medical Assistance (Medicaid), commercial insurance, TRICARE for military families, state insurance, and self-pay. Through its Gateway affiliation, the facility connects patients to an entire continuum including Hope From Home telehealth, peer-to-peer recovery support, and Community Blended Recovery programming. The local Greenbriar phone is (724) 378-4461, and Gateway’s central admissions line is 1-800-472-1177.
