Drug & Alcohol Detoxification Facilities in Arkansas

Arkansas may not come to mind when you think of states with drug problems, but it certainly has its fair share. For example, in 2018 the DEA headed up a multi-agency task force as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods that convicted 49 gang members, including members of the Crips and Bloods, for drug-related violent crime. During the arrests, the task force also seized 21 guns, body armor, 9.6 pounds of cocaine, 7.2 ounces of crack, 4 ounces of crystal meth, 12 ounces of marijuana, 293 ecstasy pills, 93 bottles of promethazine cough syrup, $50,000 cash, and a variety of other drugs. While no one Mexican cartel can be said to control drug trafficking in Arkansas, there is an assortment of cartels that operate within the state. Local drug distribution is mainly performed by the Gangster Disciples, Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, and several other smaller drug distribution groups. There is also an epidemic of prescription drug robberies in Arkansas, either from armed robbery or from pharmacy employees stealing the prescriptions. Finally, while Arkansas does not have particularly large amounts of cocaine and fentanyl, the percentage of cocaine that contains fentanyl as a cutting agent has increased significantly in the last few years. With all of that being said, there is still help available. If someone is struggling with drug or alcohol addiction in Arkansas, there are many drug and alcohol detox centers that are ready and willing to help.
