About Central Florida Recovery Centers
Central Florida Counseling & Recovery Centers operates outpatient offices at 6900 Turkey Lake Road in Orlando and at 1120 S Park Avenue in Apopka, with an additional counseling location nearby. The practice is CARF accredited and serves a broad demographic, providing mental health and substance use services for adolescents through older adults across Central Florida.
Services span the full outpatient continuum: outpatient detoxification, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programming, and standard outpatient counseling. Specialized tracks include adolescent counseling, couples counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR), targeted case management (TCM), and a DUI program. Co-occurring disorder treatment integrates substance use and mental health care so that clients are not bouncing between providers.
Clinical leadership begins with Medical Director Dr. Harbinder Ghulldu, MD, who is Board Certified in both addiction medicine and internal medicine and previously served as Medical Director at Pine River Recovery Center in Michigan. Program Director Dr. Tony Shaw, PhD, NCP, CAPP brings extensive experience in mental health and substance use treatment. Therapists describe their approach as interactive and solution-focused, helping clients build on existing strengths to resolve current problems and change long-standing behavior patterns.
The program accepts Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay, with the explicit aim of providing accessible, cost-effective services to all who need treatment. Prospective clients can reach the office at (407) 370-5357 to discuss intake, verify coverage, and schedule an evaluation.
