About EPIC Recovery Center
EPIC Recovery Center is the residential and detox arm of EPIC Behavioral Healthcare, a non-profit behavioral health system serving St. Johns and Flagler counties in northeast Florida. The Recovery Center sits at 3574 U.S. Highway 1 South in St. Augustine, and the broader EPIC network operates campuses in Central St. Augustine, North St. Augustine, Palencia and West Augustine.
Clinical services follow a step-down design. Adults can enter through the on-site Recovery Detox Center for medically supervised withdrawal, transition into residential recovery services, and then move into Second Wind Sober Living for structured community housing. Outpatient mental health, substance use counseling, psychiatric services, and Medication-Assisted Recovery Services (MARS) are available for clients who do not need residential placement or who are stepping down from one.
EPIC is CARF accredited and built to serve a wide population mix, including veterans, pregnant women, young adults, seniors, court-ordered clients, Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients, and people living with HIV/AIDS. Specialty tracks include criminal justice programs and prevention services such as Talkable Communities and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Co-occurring mental health concerns and trauma are addressed alongside substance use, with cognitive behavioral therapy used as a core evidence-based modality.
A core EPIC commitment is affordability. The organization accepts Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, private insurance and state-funded plans, and offers subsidized services so that clients are not turned away for inability to pay. Same-day access and rapid response services give the community an immediate entry point during a mental health or substance use crisis.
