About Lewis and Clark Behavioral Hlth Servs
Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health Services (LCBHS) is the designated community behavioral health provider for southeastern South Dakota, serving fourteen counties from its main offices in Yankton. The agency’s mission is to promote community health and well-being through evidence-based, consumer-centered care, and its commitment to that mission shows in a pledge that services are not refused because of inability to pay.
Addiction recovery is delivered through the EBEL Recovery Center, which supports people managing illegal and prescription drug abuse as well as those dependent on or struggling with alcohol. The full continuum is in place: medically managed detox, residential treatment, outpatient counseling, and intensive outpatient programming. Service delivery is confidential and shaped around evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy.
LCBHS also operates a broader behavioral health platform that complements addiction recovery. The CARE Program, CARE Club, and Impact Program serve individuals with severe and/or persistent mental illness with daily individualized support in facility, home, job-site, and community settings. Counseling Services support all ages with a wide range of therapeutic interventions, and Youth & Family Services provide individualized care for children with Serious Emotional Disturbance. Crisis Care includes 24/7 phone support, face-to-face access at the CORE Center, short-term residential crisis stabilization, and inpatient capacity.
The agency accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, TRICARE, state insurance, and self-pay, and operates on a sliding fee scale with financial assistance available. Walk-in access at 3111 Shirley Bridge Avenue and a 24-hour crisis line make services available without long waits.
