About Mountain Vista Farm
Mountain Vista Farm has been a beacon of hope and help for individuals struggling with alcohol and drug addiction since 1949, making it one of California’s longest-standing addiction treatment facilities. Located on a serene 8-acre campus at 3020 Warm Springs Road in Glen Ellen, in Sonoma County, the program offers a complete continuum of care for adults aged 18 and over. SAMHSA classifies the facility as Substance Use Treatment, and CARF accreditation provides external oversight of clinical and operational standards.
The program continuum includes medical detox, residential treatment, outpatient programming, intensive outpatient (IOP), a family program, and continuing care. The clinical approach is anchored by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, supplemented by individual and group therapy, family education, and recreation and wellness classes conducted on the 8-acre campus. The setting features walking paths, an outdoor pool, and a private, secluded environment that the program describes as essential to the therapeutic experience.
Mountain Vista Farm operates specialty tracks for veterans and first responders, recognizing the specific trauma, occupational stress, and substance use challenges these populations often face. SAMHSA records confirm trauma/PTSD and co-occurring disorders / dual diagnosis among the treated conditions, alongside the adult populations served: veterans, young adults aged 18 to 25, seniors / older adults, men, and women.
The facility’s nonprofit roots and stated mission emphasize affordability and access. Mountain Vista Farm offers substantial self-pay concessions on its regular rates for clients without insurance, reflecting a commitment to keeping treatment accessible across income levels. SAMHSA confirms acceptance of private insurance, TRICARE, and self-pay arrangements. Prospective clients and family members are encouraged to call (707) 996-6716 to discuss admissions, current pricing, and which program component best fits the situation.
