About
About American Detox and
American Detox and Treatment is a residential addiction treatment facility located at 405 West Cherokee Street in Chesnee, South Carolina, within Spartanburg County. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the center maintains a 24-bed capacity and provides medical detox services to individuals across Chesnee, Taylors, and the broader South Carolina region. Licensed nurse practitioners and medical technicians are on-site to support patients through withdrawal management and continuing care.
The facility offers three distinct levels of care: medical detox, residential treatment, and an outpatient program. Medical detox is the entry point for many patients, providing around-the-clock clinical oversight during the withdrawal process before transitioning into residential or outpatient programming. This continuum allows patients to step down through levels of care without changing facilities, which can be a practical advantage for those navigating early recovery.
Clinical services at American Detox and Treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, individual counseling, and group counseling. The center also addresses co-occurring disorders and dual diagnosis, as well as trauma and PTSD — conditions that frequently accompany substance use and that standard detox-only programs may not treat. Peer support is integrated into the program, and discharge planning with next-step preparation is provided to help patients transition after completing care.
American Detox and Treatment serves a broad range of populations, including veterans, young adults ages 18 to 25, seniors, men, women, and court-ordered individuals. The facility accepts TRICARE, CHAMPVA, and VA CCN, making it one of the few options in the Spartanburg area with dedicated veterans’ coverage. Additional accepted insurers include Cigna, UHC, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Optum, Ambetter, UMR, MedCost, and Instil Health. Self-pay, sliding scale, and state insurance options are also available. Note that Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted.
