About Camp Recovery Center
The Camp Recovery Center is a nationally recognized drug and alcohol treatment facility located at 3192 Glen Canyon Road in Scotts Valley, California, on a 25-acre campus nestled within the Santa Cruz Mountains. The setting – surrounded by redwoods and located between Santa Cruz and San Jose – is intentionally serene, removing patients from the urban environments where addiction often takes root and providing the calm needed to begin meaningful recovery work.
The program has built more than three decades of clinical operation around a full continuum of care for adults: medical detoxification, residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP). The clinical team includes addiction counselors, family therapists, drug rehabilitation professionals and nurses, with associate clinicians such as Yasmin Barson, AMFT, working alongside more senior staff. Group therapy is a foundational element, supported by outdoor-focused experiential therapies that take advantage of the mountain setting and complement evidence-based individual and family counseling.
The Camp is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and operates an in-network or accepted-plan relationship with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, Optum and United Behavioral Health, with additional payers verified directly through admissions. Medi-Cal is also referenced as an accepted payer, and the center’s financial team works with patients on payment plans and benefit maximization. The Camp specifically targets patients with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, cocaine, opiate, methamphetamine and prescription drug misuse, with treatment built around what they describe as four dimensions of resilience.
Admissions can be reached at (831) 431-8056, and prospective patients can begin with a free insurance verification call. Because the redwood setting and longer-term residential plus step-down model add up to a structured, multi-month commitment, patients and families typically have a conversation with the admissions team about timing, finances and family involvement before arrival.
