About Champlain Valley Family Center
Champlain Valley Family Center (CVFC) has anchored behavioral health services in New York’s North Country for decades, building a continuum of care that treats addiction and mental health together rather than in isolated silos. The Recovery Campus at 516 Norrisville Road in Schuyler Falls handles residential and detox services, while the organization’s main administrative and outpatient offices operate at 20 Ampersand Drive in Plattsburgh. CVFC is recognized as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), a federal designation that requires providers to deliver a comprehensive array of services and meet rigorous access and quality standards.
Clinically, CVFC offers medical detoxification, residential treatment, integrated outpatient services, intensive crisis and stabilization, peer engagement, care management, and an intensive family support program. The organization’s CCBHC status means clients have timely access to a coordinated continuum of services regardless of ability to pay, with free interpreter services available in Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, and Haitian Creole. Court-ordered admissions and people living with HIV/AIDS are explicitly served, alongside dedicated programming for veterans, men, and women.
Leadership is anchored by Chief Executive Officer Connie Wille, CASAC, who has been honored by the United Way of the Adirondack Region with the Distinguished Citizen Award for her long-running advocacy work in Clinton County. Under her leadership, CVFC has expanded into community-based recovery programming through the All Ways to Recovery Community Center and a Jail Services Program that meets clients during incarceration to plan continuity of care upon release. Prevention work targeted at schools, workplaces, and families completes the upstream side of the mission.
Financial accessibility is built into the CCBHC model. CVFC accepts Medicaid, private insurance, state insurance, and self-pay, and the organization explicitly commits to walking with clients regardless of payment status. The combination of clinical breadth, community embeddedness, and language access makes CVFC a foundational behavioral health resource for the Champlain Valley region.
