About Douglas County
Douglas County Community Mental Health Center operates from 1709 Jackson Street in downtown Omaha, with administrative offices at 4102 Woolworth Street, and provides behavioral health services to adults age 19 and older across a five-county region: Douglas, Dodge, Cass, Washington, and Sarpy. As a county-operated facility, the Center serves as the regional safety-net resource for mental health and substance use treatment.
The service portfolio is unusually broad. CMHC operates Inpatient Behavioral Healthcare in a safe, secure environment staffed by nursing and psychiatric technicians; Outpatient Services for both mental health and substance use; Detoxification Services for individuals beginning withdrawal management; and a dedicated Collaboration with Corrections program that serves incarcerated individuals and supports their transition back into the community. The Center is also accessible to Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients.
Clinical leadership and care are provided by a team that includes Administrator Sherry L. Driver (LIMHP), along with clinicians Stephanie Voyles (LICSW, LADC), Madonna Licht (LICSW), and Sara Baker (LICSW, LADC). The combination of dual-licensed (clinical and substance abuse) credentials reflects the Center’s integrated approach to co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders.
Douglas County CMHC accepts Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, private insurance, and state-funded plans, with sliding-scale fees and financial assistance available for self-pay clients. Office hours are Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The main intake line is 402-444-7931 or email cmhc@douglascounty-ne.gov.
