About Eastern Oregon Detoxification Center
Eastern Oregon Recovery Center (EORC), formerly known as Eastern Oregon Detoxification Center and Eastern Oregon Alcoholism Foundation (EOAF), is a residential addiction treatment program in Pendleton, Oregon. Licensed by the State of Oregon and serving the region since 1960, the organization is one of the longest-continuously-operating providers of inpatient substance use treatment in eastern Oregon. The program operates a 36-bed residential facility serving adult men and women, along with affiliated alcohol- and drug-free transitional housing for individuals, single parents, and families.
The clinical model is trauma-informed and strength-based. New residents begin with a comprehensive Bio-Psycho-Social Substance Use Assessment grounded in ASAM criteria, including an oral interview, urine analysis screen, search of belongings, and review of all referral and supporting documents. From that assessment, the team builds an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with each client, anchored in EORC’s vision of helping individuals and families achieve stability, independence, and purpose through a continuum of care.
The full continuum is distinctive. After residential treatment, qualified low-income clients can access EORC’s transitional / multi-family housing — a structured, sober environment that supports long-term sobriety, self-sufficiency, and successful reintegration into the community. This bridge between intensive treatment and independent living closes a gap that often derails recovery, particularly for clients without stable family or housing resources.
EORC serves men and women, young adults, seniors, and adults with trauma and PTSD, with services delivered in English. As a community-rooted nonprofit, the program participates in Medicaid coverage and works with referrals from across Umatilla County and the broader eastern Oregon region. Adults considering EORC should contact the center directly to confirm admission criteria, intake procedures, and current bed availability.
