About First Steps Recovery True North Detox LLC
First Steps Recovery anchors its operations in Fresno County, California, with the True North Detox facility and a network of gender-specific residential houses across Clovis and Sacramento. The campus mix includes Sequoia and Juniper women’s detox and residential, Oak and Manzanita men’s detox and residential, and outpatient locations in both regions. The Cypress site in Sacramento adds a Northern California option.
Clinically, First Steps offers the full continuum from medically supervised detox through residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and standard outpatient programming. An online PHP and IOP track extends reach to Sacramento clients who cannot attend in person. The facility is licensed by California’s Department of Health Care Services as a residential detox provider, accredited by the Joint Commission, and certified by LegitScript, a credentialing service that screens for addiction-treatment marketing integrity.
The therapeutic repertoire is wide. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Brainspotting Therapy, and experiential modalities including equine therapy, recreation therapy, and mindfulness are all listed. Treatment scope reaches beyond addiction to include co-occurring mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, eating disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and PTSD/trauma. Dr. Belis Aladag (MD, MPH, FASAM) serves as Medical Reviewer.
First Steps explicitly serves veterans, with veteran assistance programming and several veterans counted among staff. The LGBTQIA+ community is named as a served population. Court-ordered programs are accepted, alumni continuing care is provided, and a family program supports loved ones during and after treatment.
