About Gateway Community Services Inc Substance Abuse Treatment Programs
Gateway Community Services operates one of the most established substance use treatment programs in northeast Florida, with its main campus situated at 555 Stockton Street in Jacksonville’s Riverside-Brooklyn area. The facility carries CARF accreditation and is registered with SAMHSA as a substance use treatment provider serving Duval County.
Clinically, Gateway delivers a stepped continuum that lets patients move between intensity levels without changing providers. Medical detox stabilizes individuals through the acute withdrawal phase, followed by residential treatment, intensive outpatient programming, and standard outpatient counseling. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the core therapeutic modality, applied in both individual and group formats. Trauma-informed care and dual-diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions are integrated throughout the program.
The Stockton Street facility serves an unusually broad population mix. Adolescents, young adults, pregnant and postpartum women, men, and seniors all receive care here, and Gateway maintains dedicated capacity for clients with HIV/AIDS, deaf and hard-of-hearing patients, and court-ordered referrals from the criminal justice system. Programming in English is standard.
Financing is structured to keep the door open: Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, and private commercial insurance are accepted, alongside sliding-scale self-pay and state-funded slots. Patients should call 904-387-4661 to verify current bed availability, confirm coverage, and begin the intake assessment.
