About Granite Wellness Centers
Granite Wellness Centers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit substance use treatment organization that has served Placer and Nevada Counties in Northern California since 1974. The Grass Valley campus on Sierra College Drive is one of four accredited campuses (along with Auburn, Lincoln, and Roseville), and together the network maintains more than 65 residential inpatient beds, more than 55 transitional housing beds, and assists more than 1,900 people each month.
The continuum of care includes withdrawal management, residential treatment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), outpatient treatment, adolescent programming, DUI programming, batterers intervention, and drug testing services. Pregnant and parenting women, adolescents 12-18, and families are explicitly served populations, with structured wrap-around services for the entire family. The Parent Project (CDAB – Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior) is a 10-week program for parents raising difficult or out-of-control adolescents and is free to qualified applicants, coordinated by Coral Robinson.
Granite Wellness’s most distinctive program is Raíces Unidas at the Lincoln campus, which integrates traditional Mexican healing practices (Curanderismo) with western treatment methods. A multidisciplinary team of therapists, traditional-practices substance use counselors, and peer-certified specialists deliver all treatment services in Spanish, with family wrap-around services available. The program is coordinated by Irma Moraga and represents a clinically rare integration of culturally rooted healing with evidence-based addiction treatment.
Granite Wellness Centers is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The organization accepts private pay and all insurance plans including Medi-Cal, with the explicit exception of Kaiser. Specific commercial carriers in network include Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon, Carelon Behavioral Health, Bright Health, CareFirst, and Cigna. The non-profit structure allows Granite Wellness to operate as a true community safety net while maintaining clinical depth across substance use, behavioral health, and family services.
