About Indiana University West Hospital Addiction Treatment and Recovery Ctr
Indiana University Health West Hospital is part of Indiana University Health, the academic health system affiliated with the IU School of Medicine. The hospital’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center occupies Suite 364 of the 1115 North Ronald Reagan Parkway medical office building in Avon, providing dedicated addiction services within a full-service hospital campus.
The program offers medical detoxification for adults stabilizing from alcohol, opioids, and other substances, along with Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient programming for continuing care. Because the program operates inside an academic medical center, clients have access to broader hospital resources — primary care, psychiatry, internal medicine, and emergency services — which is particularly valuable for clients with complex medical or co-occurring conditions.
Clinical work is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and supported by medication-assisted treatment when clinically appropriate. The IU Health system holds Joint Commission accreditation across its hospitals, ensuring a hospital-grade clinical standard.
Located west of downtown Indianapolis in fast-growing Hendricks County, the program serves Avon, Plainfield, Brownsburg, and surrounding communities. Insurance options include Medicaid, Medicare, commercial private insurance, Indiana state insurance plans, and self-pay. Intake and scheduling are coordinated through 317-217-2711.
