About Kaiser Permanente San Jose
Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center is located at 250 Hospital Parkway in San Jose, California, and houses the system’s Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services for Santa Clara County. Operating as part of an integrated health plan, the program coordinates outpatient addiction treatment with the full continuum of Kaiser Permanente medical, behavioral health, and pharmacy services available on the same campus.
Clinically, the Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services team treats alcohol use disorder, opioid use disorder, and other substance use disorders, including patients with co-occurring mental health conditions. Care emphasizes evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, medication-assisted treatment for opioid and alcohol dependence, and structured group programming. Individual counseling and family education are layered in based on each member’s clinical plan, and care is coordinated with primary care, psychiatry, and obstetrics for patients who need integrated medical management.
Services are accessible to a broad cross-section of the community. The San Jose campus serves adolescents, young adults, working-age adults, and older patients, with specific accommodations available for pregnant women, veterans, deaf or hard-of-hearing patients, court-referred clients, and members living with HIV/AIDS. Sessions and member services are provided in English and Spanish. Care is delivered primarily on an outpatient basis, with integrated medical detox planning available through Kaiser’s hospital partners when medically necessary.
Kaiser Permanente San Jose accepts Kaiser Permanente health plans, Medi-Cal Kaiser members, and other Kaiser-contracted coverage. Members can reach the Addiction Medicine department at (408) 972-3366. Same-day appointments, e-visits, and 24/7 advice line access support continuous engagement throughout the recovery process.
