About La Hacienda Treatment Center
La Hacienda Treatment Center is one of Texas’s longest-running residential addiction treatment programs, operating since 1972 on a 40-acre campus in Hunt, Texas, in the Hill Country northwest of San Antonio. The center is built around a continuum that begins with 24/7 medically supervised detoxification, moves into residential treatment on the recovery campus, and steps down through outpatient and alumni support. La Hacienda emphasizes an individualized treatment plan, an on-site medical unit, and a small-group setting that allows clients to be known by name throughout their stay.
The program treats a broad range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, depressants, prescription drugs, stimulants, narcotic analgesics, designer drugs, hallucinogens, inhalants, synthetic cathinones, OTC drugs, and dissociative anesthetics, alongside co-occurring mental health conditions. La Hacienda runs specialty tracks for recovering professionals, LGBTQ clients, and trauma, and pairs evidence-based therapies — cognitive behavioral therapy, individual counseling, and group counseling — with a 12-Step foundation. Programming also includes a family program, an on-site ROPES course, meditation in recovery, and physical activity as part of an integrated mind-body-spirit approach.
Clinical leadership is led by Executive Director Michelle Sweet, LPC, LCDC, NCC, and Medical Director James Boone, MD. The team also includes Director of Clinical Services Erin Crossley, LCSW, LCDC, and Director of Public Policy & Advocacy Sherri Layton, LCDC, CCS. Psychiatry is supported by Terry Rustin, MD, and Robert Ward, DO, with additional medical staff including Katie McQueen, MD, Lindsey Neill, DO, and nurse practitioners Cindi Tate, DNP, APRN, FNPC, and Rick Denney, APRN, PMHNP-BC. Director of Nursing Jackie Blount, RN, oversees the 24-hour nursing team.
La Hacienda is accredited by the Joint Commission and operates as an in-network provider with most major insurances, with self-pay also accepted. Adults, seniors, men, and women can connect with the admissions team directly to verify insurance and discuss arrival to the Hunt campus.
