About Lennard Clinic Inc
The Lennard Clinic was founded in 1984 as a nonprofit addiction counseling provider in Newark, and has spent more than 40 years building one of New Jersey’s most established Opioid Treatment Program networks. The Elizabeth site at 850 Woodruff Lane—known internally as TLC III—is one of two TLC locations (the other in Newark at 461 Frelinghuysen Avenue), serving the opioid-dependent adult population of Union and Essex counties. The clinic operates as a model program for the state, recognized for its commitment to dignity, respect, and outcome-driven care.
The clinical foundation is Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorder. Methadone and buprenorphine are dispensed under physician supervision, paired with individual and group counseling, case management, mental health screening, and integrated infectious disease care—essential given the rates of HIV and hepatitis C among opioid-dependent populations. CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches are integrated throughout the program.
TLC’s clinical staffing is unusually robust for a community OTP. The corporate team includes Medical Director Dr. Yolanda Dagnino (ASAM Certified), Clinical Director Ajibola Alli (MA, LCADC, CCS), and CEO Tanya Laughinghouse (MA, LCADC). On-site staffing at Elizabeth includes counselors, case managers, psychologists, ABAM-certified medical staff, clinic physicians, infectious disease specialists, RN and LPN nurses, advanced practice nurses, and psychiatrists. Clinic Manager Rebecca Bobrowski, CADC, oversees day-to-day operations at TLC III.
Payment access is broad. The Elizabeth clinic accepts Medicaid, NJ Managed Care Plans, Work First/SAI (NJ’s state-funded substance abuse initiative), Medicare, and self-pay with sliding-scale and payment-plan options. CARF accreditation, SAMHSA certification as an Opioid Treatment Program, and NJ Department of Human Services licensure together establish TLC as a fully accountable, externally audited provider. The clinic’s nonprofit, mission-driven structure—and its longevity—make it a trusted referral destination for courts, prosecutors, hospitals, and primary care providers across Union and Essex counties.
