About LRADAC
LRADAC, the Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council, is a long-running public sector behavioral health provider for Lexington and Richland counties in South Carolina. The organization operates two campuses, one at 1068 South Lake Drive in Lexington and a Richland location at 2711 Colonial Drive in Columbia, with the Lexington site reachable at 803-726-9400.
The Lexington facility provides a full continuum of outpatient and short-stay services. Adults can enter through standard outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient programming, detoxification, or the state-mandated ADSAP-DUI program for impaired driving. Youth and teens have a dedicated program track, and family services are available alongside individual counseling. Walk-in assessment times are published on the LRADAC website so that patients can begin the intake process without a scheduled appointment.
Clinically, the program uses evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma counseling, contingency management, and relapse prevention, paired with individual, group, and family counseling. The organization is CARF accredited and is a member agency of the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS). SAMHSA records indicate the Lexington site serves adolescents, pregnant women, young adults, seniors, men, women, HIV/AIDS support populations, Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients, and court-ordered referrals.
LRADAC accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and self-pay, and explicitly states that no one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. The LRADAC Foundation supports financial assistance and community programs such as Rock 4 Recovery.
