About Maryhaven Addiction Stabilization Ctr
The Maryhaven Addiction Stabilization Center sits at 1430 South High Street in Columbus, operating as the round-the-clock detox and stabilization hub of Maryhaven’s four-campus nonprofit system. The center exists specifically for patients in acute withdrawal who need medical oversight before transitioning into longer-term recovery, and its doors do not close – intake is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Clinically, the facility focuses on medical detox and short-term residential stabilization. Withdrawal is managed by nursing staff using evidence-based protocols, and patients with opioid use disorder can be inducted onto medication-assisted treatment that continues through Maryhaven’s outpatient programs once they leave the stabilization unit. Cognitive behavioral therapy supports motivational work during the stay, and counselors begin discharge planning from day one so patients move directly into residential beds or outpatient care rather than returning to high-risk environments.
The Stabilization Center accepts pregnant women, who are coordinated with Maryhaven’s Women’s Center for ongoing prenatal and behavioral health care, and it accommodates Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients through American Sign Language services. Court-ordered admissions are routine, and the unit works closely with Franklin County criminal-justice partners as well as emergency departments throughout Central Ohio. Trauma-informed practices guide every interaction, an essential approach given that many admissions involve trauma histories.
Maryhaven is a CARF-accredited nonprofit that contracts with Ohio Medicaid, Medicare, and TRICARE, accepts commercial insurance, and offers sliding-scale fees and financial assistance to ensure no patient is turned away for inability to pay. Once stabilized, patients flow into Maryhaven’s residential program, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, or the agency’s Opioid Treatment Program, giving them an integrated path from withdrawal through long-term recovery without needing to switch providers.
