Turquoise Lodge Hospital is owned and operated by the New Mexico Department of Health and functions as the state’s dedicated specialty hospital for substance use disorder treatment. Located at 5400 Gibson Boulevard SE in Albuquerque, the facility serves residents across Bernalillo County and the broader state of New Mexico, including patients referred from rural communities that lack on-the-ground addiction services.
The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers a full continuum of substance use care under one roof, beginning with medically supervised inpatient detoxification for patients withdrawing from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines and other substances. Following detox, patients may step down to residential rehabilitation on the same campus, where structured days combine individual counseling, group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and case management with medical monitoring.
Turquoise Lodge also runs outpatient and intensive outpatient services for patients transitioning back to community life or entering treatment at a less acute level.
