About Ocean Hills Recovery
Ocean Hills Recovery sits in the coastal sliver of Orange County between Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano, with its administrative office in Laguna Niguel. The program is designed as a relatively small, family-friendly inpatient rehab where adults can address alcohol addiction, drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health concerns in a calm coastal setting rather than a clinical campus.
The continuum starts with medically managed detox to stabilize withdrawal, then moves into residential treatment as the core therapeutic phase, with partial hospitalization (PHP) and outpatient programming available for clients who need a step-down before fully reintegrating. Sober living coordination is offered for clients who benefit from structured transitional housing after residential care. Treatment philosophy blends evidence-based psychotherapy with the twelve-step framework, with an emphasis on dual-diagnosis care for the substantial subset of clients whose substance use sits on top of an underlying mental health condition.
Clinical leadership is anchored by CEO Robert Leigh, Clinical Director George H. Tucker, Ph.D., ABPP (board-certified through the American Board of Professional Psychology since 2003), and Medical Director Dr. Christian Small, MD, who is board-certified in addiction psychiatry, general psychiatry, and family medicine. Director of Admissions Jerney Allen and Director of Business Development Ricky Herrera support the front-end intake and outreach work.
Ocean Hills is accredited by CARF and is in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and most major PPOs, including UMR, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Carelon. Self-pay is accepted and the admissions team can outline financing arrangements for clients without coverage. A dedicated veterans addiction treatment track is offered, and the program publishes guides on getting a loved one into rehab as well as supporting family members through the process.
