About One Promise Behavioral health
One Promise Behavioral Health is a Baltimore-based recovery organization that grew out of the work of founder Mr. White, who got clean in 2003 and opened the first One Promise recovery house in 2008. Today the organization operates an outpatient facility at 6211 Belair Road in northeast Baltimore, plus eight certified recovery houses for men and women across the area. One Promise treats addiction as a three-fold disease that is physical, psychological-emotional, and spiritual, integrating twelve-step principles with evidence-based counseling.
The clinical menu spans several levels of care. The Belair Road facility delivers intensive outpatient and traditional outpatient programming, while a separate Level 3.1 low-intensity residential track provides structured, supportive care for clients who need a higher level of containment than outpatient. Substance Abuse and DUI Education classes serve clients referred through the Maryland courts, and the mental health team offers counseling for community members regardless of prior substance use history.
One Promise admits adult men and women, including pregnant and postpartum women, young adults, seniors, veterans, court-ordered clients, and adults living with HIV/AIDS. Cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management, brief intervention approaches, and group counseling are layered into individualized treatment plans. Because the organization owns its own recovery housing, clinical care, sober living, and ongoing peer support can be coordinated as a single continuum.
The program accepts Maryland Medicaid, private insurance, sliding-scale self-pay, and offers financial flexibility for working clients. Prospective patients can reach the Belair Road facility directly at 443-835-2942 or via 443-835-2681 to begin an intake. One Promise’s spiritual roots, including active participation in Narcotics Anonymous, give the program a peer-driven culture that many clients describe as a key part of their recovery.
