About Prototypes Womens Center Ventura County
Prototypes Women’s Center Ventura County is a residential addiction treatment facility located at 2150 North Victoria Avenue in Oxnard, California, serving individuals throughout Ventura County. The center is designed specifically to address substance use disorder, alcohol addiction, drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions, with programming structured around the distinct needs of women and their families. Open 24 hours a day, the facility provides around-the-clock access to care at every stage of treatment.
The center offers three levels of care: medical detox, residential treatment, and an outpatient program. Medical detox is the entry point for individuals who require supervised withdrawal management before transitioning into longer-term care. Residential treatment provides immersive, on-site programming for those who need structured support beyond detox. The outpatient program extends access to treatment for individuals who have stabilized or who require a less intensive level of care.
Prototypes integrates practical support services into its treatment model, including parenting support and vocational training. These services reflect the center’s recognition that recovery for women — particularly mothers — often requires addressing life circumstances alongside addiction itself. The facility treats substance use disorder alongside mental illness, domestic violence histories, and co-occurring disorders, acknowledging that these conditions frequently intersect.
The center serves an unusually wide range of populations, including women and children, LGBTQ individuals, Latinx and African American communities, API communities, youth and young adults, people experiencing homelessness, and individuals involved in the justice system — including parolees, probationers, and those in reentry. This breadth makes Prototypes a resource for Ventura County residents who may face barriers to accessing treatment elsewhere. Contact the center directly at (805) 382-6296 or information@prototypes.org to discuss placement options.
