Rainbow Center of Michigan operates from 12501 Hamilton Avenue in Highland Park, Michigan, serving Wayne County and the broader Detroit area. Founded in 1999, the center is accredited by The Joint Commission, certified by SAMHSA, and licensed by the State of Michigan. As a provider within the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN), RCOM is part of a coordinated community behavioral health system that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through DWIHN’s access line.
The program’s clinical core is Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorder, anchored by methadone therapy. Clients also engage in outpatient counseling, screening and referral, educational group sessions, and other support services. Care is described by the program as holistic and individualized – oriented around the mind, body and spirit and built on each client’s strengths and abilities.
RCOM serves adults from age 21 to 70 and older, including veterans, pregnant women, seniors, men, women, court-involved clients, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The program is identified by SAMHSA as accommodating clients who are deaf or hard of hearing, with TTY access available via dial 711.
Accepted payors include Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, private insurance, state insurance and self-pay. The center participates in a Recovery Oriented System of Care under DWIHN, providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, gender-specific, and culturally sensitive services with informal and formal supports to sustain long-term recovery.
