About Veritas Recovery Center
Veritas Recovery Center is a residential substance use and inpatient withdrawal management facility located at 540 Bordentown Avenue in South Amboy, New Jersey. Approved by the NJ Office of Licensing for the provisions of substance abuse and detoxification services, Veritas began operations in November 2017 and holds a capacity of 64 patients. The facility sits in Middlesex County and primarily serves the South Amboy area, offering a setting for people who need medically supervised care during the acute phase of withdrawal and beyond.
The center provides two core levels of care: medical detox and residential treatment. The medical detox program addresses inpatient withdrawal management — the clinical process of safely stabilizing patients before transitioning into ongoing residential care. With a program length of 10 to 28 days, patients can move from detox directly into residential treatment within the same facility, reducing the gaps that often interrupt recovery during the most critical early period.
Veritas treats co-occurring disorders and dual diagnosis alongside substance use, recognizing that mental health conditions frequently accompany addiction. Trauma and PTSD are also among the conditions addressed. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is part of the clinical framework, giving patients a structured, skill-based approach to understanding and changing the thought patterns connected to substance use.
The facility is designed to serve a broad range of populations, including men, women, pregnant women, young adults ages 18 to 25, seniors and older adults, individuals with HIV/AIDS, and those entering treatment through court order. On the financial side, Veritas accepts Medicaid, state insurance, and offers a sliding scale fee structure — and specifically extends access to non-insured individuals who may qualify under state funding, making medically supervised detox reachable for patients who might otherwise face financial barriers to inpatient care.
