About White Sage Recovery
White Sage Recovery is a specialty detoxification center in Pleasant Grove, Utah, that has built its model around a single proposition: detox done well can change the trajectory of someone’s recovery. Rather than positioning itself as a full-continuum treatment center, White Sage focuses exclusively on medically monitored detox in a comfortable, peaceful setting designed to help patients move through withdrawal with dignity.
At 533 West Center Street, the facility serves adults across Utah County. The team approaches detox not as a clinical formality but as an intervention window with the power to shape what comes next, meeting patients where they are in their journey. Admission interviews are handled by phone, with the Admissions Director gathering demographic information, drug of choice and history of use, and a brief medical history before approving admission. Once admitted, patients work with a team that the program reports has more than 40 years of combined addiction medicine experience.
Leadership combines clinical and psychiatric expertise. Medical Director Derry Brinley, D.O., has been practicing psychiatry for 25 years and maintains a private practice in American Fork, also serving as Medical Director at Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital and Willow Tree Recovery. Executive Director Cathy Collins, PMHNP-BC, brings psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner credentials to oversight of clinical operations, while Admissions Director Bill Collins handles intake.
The program is CARF accredited and presents itself as hope-centered—a place where staff, many of whom have personal experience with addiction, work to influence patients’ first steps toward sobriety. Payment options include private insurance and self-pay, and White Sage offers virtual facility tours for patients and families weighing options. After detox, patients are typically referred to residential or outpatient programs in the broader Utah Valley recovery community.
