WTCR Temple is an outpatient Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) at 2610 Exchange Place in Temple, Texas, serving adults from across Bell County and the surrounding Central Texas region. As part of WTCR — one of the longest-serving medication-assisted treatment networks in Texas — the Temple clinic offers daily-dosing methadone and buprenorphine services for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder. WTCR is accredited by the Joint Commission, the national gold standard for OTP quality and safety.
The clinical philosophy at WTCR is grounded in evidence: addiction is a chronic but treatable medical illness, and the combination of medication and counseling is far more effective than either alone. New patients arrive for a comprehensive assessment, then begin opiate agonist therapy with methadone or buprenorphine. These medications stabilize the neurobiological adaptations that drive craving and withdrawal, freeing patients to engage in the counseling and life-change work that sustains long-term recovery.
Therapeutic interventions at WTCR Temple include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, individual counseling, and group counseling. Pregnant women with Opioid Use Disorder can receive medication-assisted treatment at WTCR with the clinical oversight that pregnancy requires; methadone is an evidence-based standard of care for pregnant women with OUD. The clinic accepts Medicaid (which in Texas covers methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone for OUD), Medicare, state insurance, private insurance, and self-pay, with financial assistance for qualifying patients.
