About Zepf Center
Zepf Center is the leading community behavioral health and substance-use recovery provider in the Toledo area, serving Lucas County and Northwest Ohio for more than five decades. The CARF-accredited nonprofit operates six locations across the region, with administrative offices on Ashland Avenue and clinical hubs that include the Nebraska Avenue campus. Care is delivered through the Sanctuary Model, an evidence-based, trauma-informed framework that shapes every program and interaction.
The agency offers a true continuum of care for substance use disorders. Clients can enter through Crisis CARE, step into medical detox through the dedicated Detox Admission Line, transition to residential treatment, and continue into outpatient or intensive outpatient programming. As a designated Opioid Treatment Program, Zepf provides medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence, while specialty services treat gambling, tobacco and vaping cessation, and co-occurring mental-health conditions. Sanctuary-Model trauma-informed therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy anchor the clinical work.
Zepf goes well beyond clinical care. Substance Use Recovery Housing, career development, integrated primary care, and the Health and Wellness program give clients stable footing as they rebuild their lives. Youth services include the FIRST Program, child and adolescent mental health, the Safety Net program for runaway and homeless youth, and OhioRise care coordination. The Patient Advisors program empowers people with lived experience to help others navigate the system.
Financial access is a priority. Zepf accepts Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, and a wide range of private insurance, with sliding fee discounts available to Lucas County residents based solely on household size and income. Crisis support is available 24/7 at 419-904-CARE, and the Detox Admission Line at 419-754-DTOX connects callers directly with the withdrawal management team.
