About Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management
Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management Center, operated by Missions Inc. Programs, provides clinically managed withdrawal services to adolescents and adults experiencing acute intoxication or withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. Located at 3409 East Medicine Lake Boulevard in Plymouth, the program is one of the few facilities in the Twin Cities west metro area that accepts people as young as 13.
The core service is medical detox in a residential setting, supported by 24-hour clinical monitoring. The program supports both voluntary admissions and referrals from emergency departments, law enforcement, and community providers. Once stabilized, patients can be transitioned to other Missions Inc. recovery resources, including Hart House, Mission Lodge, Smith Lodge, and Mission Heights supportive housing, where assistance accessing primary care, mental health care, AA and NA meetings, and transportation is provided.
Funding flexibility is a defining feature. The withdrawal management center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, TRICARE, state insurance, and self-pay, and Missions Inc. has historically provided financial assistance and sliding accommodations so that ability to pay does not bar people from withdrawal stabilization.
Missions Inc. has served the west metro for more than a century, with a dual focus on domestic violence services and substance use recovery. The Retterath center reflects that history of low-barrier, community-rooted care, providing a clinically supervised first step for people who are not safe to detox alone.
