Drug & Alcohol Detoxification Facilities in Oklahoma

Oklahoma is a relatively major center for drug activity in the midwest US. The Juarez Cartel is a major drug trafficking organization that has a heavy presence in the state, and Oklahoma City in particular. While the cartel handles trafficking, local drug distribution is mainly handled by gangs such as the Aryan Brotherhood, Irish Mob, and Indian Brotherhood. Heroin has been an increasing issue in recent years within the state, and crystal meth is becoming a significant problem, with roughly 11 crystal meth overdose deaths for every 100,000 residents in 2017. Additionally, in 2017 there were 33 large-scale meth labs that were seized by law enforcement in Oklahoma, which is much higher than the surrounding states (with the exception of Missouri). While the drug problem is growing in Oklahoma, there is help available if someone wants to change their lifestyle. Drug and alcohol detox centers are scattered across the state, and can often act as an effective and very helpful entrance into long-term recovery.
